'Nehru Nagar' is relatively a new village in the region formed by rehabilitated inhabitants of approximately seven villages, which were displaced due to the Srisailam multi-purpose project in 1981. It is a large village with an approximate electorate of over 10,000. The place offers splendid scenic beauty, besides being a natural habitat for many rare species of birds. Ideal time to visit is between October to December, when the fields are lush green and the reservoir is full.
