  • Is correct and the photo and location. The settlement was founded by Anton von Manz Mariensse, here was a blacksmith and a furnace of molten ore. I recommend you read the book Drum de fier prin praf de pusca- paul brascanu
  • My father's family (Hennel) came from there. They settled there in the late 1700's, and yes, re-settled back in Germany in 1940.
  • Hi Angela, My grandmother, Emma Geitz was born there (then called Eisenau), her parents, Anna Maria Rypski & Carolus Geitz also from there. Anna Maria's parents are Adam Rypski & Susanna Schmegner. Emma, her parents & siblings along with her grandmother Susanna came to Canada in 1905. There is no record of Adam coming. I believe Adam's parents are Andreas Rypski & Elisabeth Hennel. Is Elisabeth an ancestor of yours & therefore, Adam, as well? Would you have any information about Adam? Would love to hear from you. Regards, Lee Hudson
  • My grandmother, Maria Lerch come from Eisenau. My great grandmother it was Maria Stark.
