This now ornamental pond is the only remaining part of a small pond owned by the Tunstall family when the site was part of the Tunstall estate. Most of the property was bought to construct the Town of Apex offices on and part of the small pond was retained as a drainage pool. It has been landscaped with a variety of low-maintenance plants and has bird houses and bird feeders to encourage wildlife to nest in the location.
