The City of Arts (formerly know as City of Music), with inauguration schedule to January of 2013, will be the headquarters of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, and the main classical music theater of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.
Located on Barra da Tijuca Borough, in Rio de Janeiro, will have the biggest orchestra and opera room of South America with 1.800 seats at full capacity.
This project, from the French architect Christian de Portzamparc, was funded by the City of Rio de Janeiro and presented on the year of 2002, consumed R$473 millions reais ( approximately 230 millions us dollars).
