  • This is a rest house of Kumaun Mandal Vikas Nigam, an Uttranchal State Government undertaking. The rest house is situated at just below 8000 feet and is in the midst od the vast Binsar wild Life sanctuary, comprising of dense Oak and Rhododendron trees in the upper parts and pine trees on the lower stretchess. The rest house is the highest among those in the sanctuary and offers an excellent panoramic view of the Himalayan range - of Nandadevi and Trishul peaks. The rest house is powered by generator that runs only till 10pm, after which one has romance of candle lights in the rooms. Hot water for bathing is supplied on demand in the morning in buckets. Upkeep is soso, but the beauty of the location and the excellent trecks into the jungle and the anticipation of coming accross leopards, which abound, and wild boars, which one fears for their unpredictabilty, makes up for it. Catering is adequate. Transport is what you have come on.
