The village was abandoned starting in 1986 due to Chernobyl Disaster radiation. Stricken from the Ukraine official records of populated places on 28 December 1991.

It was the centre of the village council and was subordinated to the villages of Motyli and Omelnyky. It was evicted due to radioactive contamination caused by the Chornobyl accident. The population in 1981 was 160 people. It was removed from the register on 28 December 1990 by Zhytomyr Regional Council.
