  • Baddowal is my pind near Jaijon. It was settled by two brothers Achar Singh and Dhoom Singh our lineage traces back to Dhoom Singh. It was an important trading route in the past and Jaijon was a lively place. The villas in Jaijon are a testimony to the wealth that existed in the past although now a number in ruins. I love the air and atmosphere in Baddowal very calming and a great place to escape to from London !
  • Thought I would add some more detail ! The two brothers came from Baddowal near Ludhiana hence the same name for Baddowal near Jaijon. This happened about the same time as the famous battle of the Khalsa forces with the British Army. The surnames are also the same Hullait. I have traced our family tree back to 1800s any further information would be welcome!
