Western Maryland Pinkerton Tunnel

USA / Pennsylvania / Casselman /
 park, interesting place

The Pinkerton tunnel was once used by the Western Maryland Railroad to route its trains through the Pinkerton Horn. The tunnel was abandoned and forced the Great Allegheny Passage trail to use a bypass trail around the Pinkerton Horn in order to connect the trail between the High Bridge and Low Bridge. The tunnel was reopened in 2015 and is used by hikers and bicyclists on the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail.
