University of Michigan Field Research Area

Saginaw Forest is 80 acres of coniferous and deciduous forest on
Liberty Road on the western edge of Ann Arbor. This property was
donated to the University of Michigan in 1904 to be used as an
experimental area for instruction and research in forestry and
student extracurricular activities. Third Sister Lake is on the
western edge of Saginaw Forest.

Take Jackson Road to Wagner and go south to Liberty (less than a
mile). Go west on Liberty a fraction of a mile to the entrance
to Saginaw Forest. From Stadium Boulevard it is something more
than a mile on Liberty.

Parking is not permitted at the gate on Liberty. You can park
on the public street on the south side of Liberty just west of
the gate: Westview Way. Westview Way is a public road with
public parking allowed.
