The Burdekin Dam is a huge Dam that catches water from the a combination of the Burdekin, Cape, Campaspe, Belyando and Suttor Rivers. This is a major source of water for Ayr, Bowen and Most of the Burdekin. After being built, it was expected that the Dam would take five years for the water to build. It is understood it only took one Wet Season to fill. The Burdekin Dam is the biggest dam in the Southern Hemisphere.
