church, monastery, Maronite Church, catholic, Roman Catholic church

It is the Mother House which witnessed the foundation of the Congregation of the Maronite Lebanese Missionaries in 1865. Placed under the name of “Christ the Savior”, the monastery was built in 1718 with the Armenian Monks along with their first Patriarch and bishops coming from Aleppo to settle in the arms of the Catholic Church. After they evacuated it and moved to Bzommar and Kheshbao convents, Bishop Youhanna Habib bought it with the surrounding properties, restored it and endowed it for the Congregation. From it, the missionaries started their mission in Lebanon and abroad. to know more about this Monastery www.kreimists.org en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maronite_Church
