  • I studied here from 1947 (Class 3) to 1955 (High School). It changed names from DAV Middle School to High School and then Higher Secondary School. Bishan Sahae Vidhyarthi was the Headmaster and then the Principal of the School during most of this period. The other teachers were: MotiLal, SadaNandChanana, JethaRam, ShughanChand, HarphoolSingh, NebhRaj, BhojDutt, ShivDayalMehta, JaiKishanShastri, Janardan, Bisaria, Midha, GyanChandRikhi, Palta, LakshmiNarayan, DevRajPuri, Narinder Panday, BrijMohan, Saini, Sehgal, LekhRaj, TrilokChand and RaghubirSingh. Some of my close classmates were: DeshBandhuSahae, RaghuSahae, RoopChand, PuranChand, OmPrakashSoni, Surinder Sharma, ChanderKumarBajaj, AmritLal, RajKumarGupta, GursharanSingh, NandKishore, PranSharma, SubhashKapoor, ShantiLalKhanna, ShantiLal, PushkarDuttSharma, MalluSharma, GangaRamSharma, MangeRamSharma, BrahamDuttSharma, ShamLal, MohanLal, RameshMehta, SatyaMitter, RajinderKumarDhingra and DevNathRathor.
  • During my recent visit to India, I had the opportunity to be in the school for a short time and met the present Principal and the vice-principal of the school. Also got a chance to meet Amrit Lal and Chiranjiv Lal living in Yusaf Sarai, they being one and two years ahead of me in the school during our studies here from 1947 to 1955. Also met my very close classmates Deshbandhu Sahai and Om Prakash Soni who are living in Faridabad and Gurgaon respectively.

  • The proper name of this school, in my view, needs correction. During my forthcoming visit to New Delhi, I shall contact the Principal to resolve this issue.
