While the original congregation started as early as September 1976, the Williamsburg Community Chapel church did not open here until June 1989. By 1990 the toll of a degenerative spinal condition upon the pastor who founded the church, Dick Woodward, was so great that he could no longer serve as full-time Senior Pastor. Bill Warrick assumed his role, and Mr. Woodward became Teacher-in-Residence. The high growth of the congregation lead to building a larger Chapel with a sanctuary able to seat 1500 guests. Services for the chapel are held Sunday mornings regularly, while keeping doors open for other ministries the rest of the week. The Chapel also holds a "Student Ministry" service during the same time as the adult service.
