This is the approximate location of the source of the 2003 Cedar Fire. The wildfire was one of the largest in California history, and the state's largest fire caused by human activity. The fire burned over 280,000 acres (437.5 square miles/1,133 square km), and killed 15 people. Over 2,800 structures were destroyed, including 2,232 homes. The fire caused approximately $1.24 billion in damage

  • The Cedar Fire was in 2003 not 2005 as you state. I was evacuated and remember it well.
