Mineral Peak Lookout at 6704ft elevation began in the 1920's as a crow's nest lookout, a pole tower with a small cab replaced it in 1935. The present wooden tower was constructed in 1957. It was last regularly staffed in the early 1970's. It is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
