The Travelodge site was formerly LK Family Restaurant & Motel (El Charrito and Travelodge today) from 1974 to 1989. According to Richland County, OH Property Records, the LK Family Restaurant & Motel was built in 1974. The older two-story LK hotel (part of Travelodge today) that is located just down the hill a little bit next to the newer LK motel and restaurant was built in 1971. The first LK Family Restaurant use to be located just down the Hanley Road hill where the McDonald's is located today. That LK Family Restaurant that was located at 25 West Hanley Road was built in 1972 and was demolished in 1980 to make way for a new McDonald's.
