Kupreanof is a small city on the eastern shore of Kupreanof Island, directly across the Wrangell Narrows from the city of Petersburg on Mitkof Island. It is the smallest incorporated city in the state, with a population of 27 at the 2010 census.

Kupreanof was first known as West Petersburg when it was settled by homesteaders around 1900, and was known for fur and lumber trade.
