Oregon's Highest (approx. 6500ft elevation) and smallest (54.4 acres) incorporated city was once home to thousands of local miners during the gold rush in the 1890's. Now with an official census of zero residents, the town has about a dozen vacation homes owned mostly by residents from the Willamette valley. Deep snows in the winter keep out all but the few residents who use snowmobiles.
