This Brigade(Hebrew w: הָעֲרָבָה, HaArava, lit. meaning "desolate and dry area), is subordinate to the Edom (Territorial) Division, and has responsibility for patrolling the vast border area with Jordan in the Jordan Rift Valley south of the Dead Sea, called the Wadi Arrava, as far as here in Eilat on the Gulf of Aqaba. This area of responsibility is even represented in the Brigade badge (see photo)which represents the Wadi Arava area.
