park, place with historical importance, archaeological site
The Sacra Via (Sacred Road) was a walled walkway built by the Hopewell Indian culture. The path led from the Muskingum River to a rectangular, walled ceremonial complex. Two earthen mounds (Quadranau Mound and Capitolium Mound) stood within the walls of the complex.
The Sacra Via was destroyed in the 1840s. Today it's a small park.
The site was also used as a Civil War era military camp (Camp Tupper).
