This is a striking-looking rotating restaurant on Mount Schilthorn with a colorful history. It is on top of the Schilthorn, near Murren. The restaurant is eastern end of the structure and the rest is a viewing platform. Reachable from the nearest road through 4 connecting aerial cable car through Stechelberg, Gimmelwald and Muerren. When the building was still in construction, the builders made a deal with the producers of the 1969 James Bond Film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". It was protrayed as Blofeld's lair from. The restaurant opened after the movie was completed, and is today as much a James Bond fan attraction, as a scenic lookout. In the film, the platform is used as a landing area for a helicopter.

The producers of the film, searching for a suitable location for the secret lair of Ernst Stavro Blofled, found this revolving mountain-top restaurant, only reachable by cable car, while it was still under construction. They paid for a portion of the remaining construction, in exchange for being allowed to redesign it somewhat to suit the needs of the film, and being allowed to close the restaurant for quite some time as the movie was filmed.

  • Здесь в конце 1960-х годов 20 века снимался известный фильм о суперагенте Джеймсе Бонде На секретной службе её величества. Помню эпизод когда Джеймс Бонд передвигался по тросам канатной дороги но когда приблизился вагон канатной дороги он сел на крышу вагона и доехал до секретной лабаротории Блофельда. После чего отправился в саму лабароторию.
  • А в начале 1990-ых здесь был снят эпизод фильма "Кодекс бесчестия" (иностранец пригласил жену банкира совершить поездку в горы). Эпизод сопровождается чудесной музыкой Алексея Рыбникова. Фильм выпущен в свет в 1993 г.
