The Borovany Augustinians monastery was founded in the 1455 as the first past the Hussite´s wars. The new magnificent building of the new prelature in the style of late Barocco was built during 1760 - 1770 by provost Augustin Dubensky in the style of late Barocco. For itself purpose, however, the monastery served only briefly, because in 1785 was abolished by Emperor´s Joseph II. of Austria reforms. In 1787 acquired the Borovany manor including former monastery Prince of Schwarzenberg and the prelature has been used as a castle. Large park with Barocco statues.
Accessible during July and August daily, except Monday, in 10.00, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30, 16.00 with a guide.
