parish, Gothic (architecture), Roman Catholic church
The parish church in Louny was built probably in the middle of 13th century in the time of city foundation in early Romanesque and Gothic style. At the end of the 40th years of the 14th century the church was damaged by fire, but was renewed. In the March 25, 1517 the church completely destroyed by a fire and it was unable to renewe it. In the years 1518 - 1538 a new building of the church was constructed by the forgotten Master Mikulas, but unfinished. Complete bulding was made in 1534 by the famous Royal construtor Master Benedikt Reit of Pistov in the style of topmost late Gothic style. This church is the one of jewels of so called Czech Jageillo Gothic. Master Benedict Reit was later, in 1534, burried here.
