The Philippine Bayanihan Society (Singapore) or PBSS was then constituted in August 2001 to render policy initiatives and manage the operations, programmes and activities of the centre. It is a registered society under the Societies Act of Singapore with the Registry of Societies. In December 2002, the Society gained full membership with the National Council of Social Service as a Volunteer Welfare Organization and was registered as a charity under the Charities Act of Singapore in April 2004 with the Commission of Charities.

Among the principal objectives of the Society are to promote skills upgrading among Filipino workers and enhance socio-cultural ties between Filipinos and Singaporeans. The Bayanihan Centre provides the classrooms, facilities and supports for volunteers and community groups to conduct numerous short term courses which include basic and advanced computer training, nursing aide, business counseling, legal secretariat, dressmaking, cooking and baking, cosmetology, aromatherapy, Swedish massage and martial arts.
