This seven-story tower house was completed in 1626 by the Aberdonian merchant William Forbes, ancestor to the Forbes-Sempill family, and has barely changed since then. Its pinkish hue, pointed turrets, gables and corbels contribute to a classic fairy-tale appearance. The castle and its grounds are now in the care of the National Trust for Scotland.
