Double deck bridge (pedestrian on top, cars on bottom) connecting the East and West Bank campuses of the University of Minnesota. On the above walking bridge are hundreds of murals painted by various student groups that change every year. The lower deck will be reinforced to carry the Central Corridor light rail. When the light rail starts running in 2014, Washington Avenue will be closed to cars and will carry buses and taxis only.
Poet John Berryman jumped from here to his death in 1972.
Your tour guides may lie to you, but it is not in fact heated in the winter. Enjoy the ice stalagmites.
