Charles W. Cullen Bridge

The Indian River Inlet Bridge (officially named the Charles W. Cullen Bridge) is a cable-stayed bridge within Delaware Seashore National Park in Sussex County, Delaware. It carries four lanes of Delaware Highway 1 at the Indian River Inlet between the Indian River Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a total length of 2,600 ft (790 m), a main span of 950 ft (290 m), a height of 247 ft (75 m), a width of 107 ft (33 m), and a clearance of 45 ft (14 m) below the deck. The bridge was constructed by Skanska from 2008 to 2012 at a cost of $150,000,000. The bridge opened partially to traffic in January of 2012 and fully to traffic in May 2012.

Prior to the current bridge, four other bridges existed at this location (built in 1934, 1938, 1952, and 1965).
