Kout na Sumave Castle (Kout na Šumavě)

Estate Kout belonged to the genus of Count of Stadion was managed from the castle, built on the north side of the village.
Castle since thee 1950s served inter alia as the Czechoslovak People's Army (CSLA) garrison. In 1981 it was rebuilt and since then has been used as a School in Nature, which was run to serve for curative staying for the children of Northern Bohemia threatened by air pollution. In 2002 the operations of the school for economic reasons were interrupted.
In 2004 the chateau was acquired to the village Kout na Sumave property . In the same year the castle was restored for the operations as the School in Nature again. Beyond the operations of schools it is linked to family recreation, which have been also very popular and affordable for the general public.
