The Tooting Otter is Wekiva Island’s outdoor and indoor bar, with a craft and domestic beers, a large wine selection, soda, water, snacks and other menu items. No alcohol is ever allowed to be brought onto Wekiva Island or the Wekiva River. There are several different sizes of covered cabanas for rent, equipped with couches, rocking chairs, cabinets, and ice chests. An event tent is available for larger gatherings. A sand volleyball area is also located on the property. There are several Adirondack chairs lined along the edge of the river that allow you to relax and watch the activities on the water. Swimming in the Wekiva River is allowed, but fishing is prohibited from the island shoreline. However, you are allowed to fish from boats, canoes, or bridges. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, and a boat launch is located here as well. If you go with the current (NE) it will eventually lead to the St. Johns River, but that is quite a distance. Heading west you will get to the Wekiva State Park. And, if you take the northern spur about 1000 feet west, you'll head towards Rock Springs (Kelly Park).
