Savchyn (or folk named Savkin) Yar is a ravine, that separates Lysa Hora ('Bald Mountain') from Kholodna Hora ('Cold Moutain'). It gave its name to the residential area around.
During the period of active growth of Kharkiv in 18th-19th centuries, poor people, homeless kids and petty criminals used to settle in this street and around it.

Now there is one continuous Verkhnioudynska Street, which ends with the abandoned quarry of the former brick factory.
Type of construction - the private sector, one- and two-story houses.
There is no car entry to the quarry.
