Was built as an oil burning power station and finished just in time for the '70s oil crisis so never got used.

  • "large...ugly...expensive...never used"? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It was actually used briefly during the 1980s coal miners' strikes. Anyway, it has now been demolished, apart from the chimney which will be demolished next week.
