INFORMATION:
Founded in 1920 as a 6-bed maternity clinic (Maternity House). Named after Dr. Jose Fabella – First Secretary of Health. Transferred to its present site in 1951, to the administration building of the Old Bilibid Prison Compound. 700 bed capacity, Special Tertiary Medical Center for obstetrics, gynecology, newborn care and pediatrics. Mandated as the National Maternity Hospital, as per A.O. no. 11 s. 2000. Operates the only School of Midwifery of the DOH, since 1922.
