Sfântu Gheorghe, the centre of Covasna county. The first document mentioning it is from 1332. The name of the town came from the saint patron of the local church, Sfântu Gheorghe.

Sfântu Gheorghe - 54,312 inhabitans (2011) - lies on the banks of the river Olt, in the valley between the Baraolt and Bodoc mountains.

  • lol dantamasa the city has been founded by hungarians in the mediaeval era. the county name is Three Sees, it has been renamed by post WWII Romanian administration (at the 1968 administrational reform) to Covasna county (from the world famous spaa city's, Covasna/Kovászna's name).
