Chongdan County (Ch'ŏngdan-gun), South Hwanghae Province, North Korea.
Located in the Haeso region, which is commonly referred to as North Korea's breadbasket, Chongdan is a primarily agricultural county bordering on the Yellow Sea. The coastline is dotted with many small islands, as well as many salt ponds where sea water is evaporated to produce table salt.
"Ch'ŏngdan" is an old name for Malachite.
