Zinc copy of the Flensburger lion from the year 1874, restores 2005. The Flensburger lion (also Idstedt lion, Danish Istedløven) is a plastics of the spätklassizistischen monumental sculpture, which the Dane Herman Wilhelm bites created as monument for the victory of the royal-Danish troops over the German Schleswig Holsteiner in the battle with Idstedt (25 July 1850). The original, which was only briefly in Flensburg and afterwards until 1945 in Berlin, stands today under the designation Istedløven in Copenhagen.
