Mongstad crude oil Terminal is located near Bergen in western Norway. The yearly tonnage handled at the terminal is the largest in Norway. The terminal is operated by Statoil and owned by Petoro and Statoil.
Mongstad crude oil terminal receives and handles all crude oil from Troll B and C, Kvitebjørn and Fram area through the Troll I and II pipelines. A major part of Heidrun crude oil is shipped to Mongstad terminal. By handling oil from these fields, the terminal holds an important role in the value chain for Norwegian crude oils, by providing intermediate storage for exports to customers in North America, Europe and Asia.

This facility gives Statoil great flexibility in the timing and volume of crude oil shipment planning, which is important for marketing Norwegian crude oil beyond north-western Europe.
In addition to providing intermediate storage, Mongstad terminal is a reliable and efficient location for Ship to Ship (STS) transfers of Dirty and Clean petroleum products in the North Sea. This service is offered to all shippers, approved by Statoil’s vetting requirements.
