  • The little village of Seaford Town is in Jamaica also known as German Town. It was settled in 1834 to 1838 with 1.200 Germans. The grounds where donated by Lord Seaford. Most of the settlers did not survive or left for Canada. Today there are about 220 persons living in the area with german roots, blond hair and blue eyes. The centre of activities is the dominican mission, which is under the supervision of dutch priests.
  • I had the pleasure to meet a wonderful and selfless priest who also has the keys to the little museum. He was kind enough to let my wife and I tour though the great items and we purchased some postcards etc., very nice shop. We were invited to dinner & stay the night with him. Our discussions were wide-ranging & quite profound, a real delight! If you want to see some of the real Jamaica (non-resort), then I'd advise granting yourself much more time between Point A and B, hire/lease a car, get a good map and see the island in a proper way. nbase41@yahoo.com
