Mount Salak

Mount Salak is a volcanic mount with type A stratovolcanic. It has three main peaks called Peak 1 (2211m asl) in the southern part, Peak 2 (2180m asl) in the northern part and Peak Sumbul (1926m asl) in the western part. It is located within the Mount Halimun Salak National Park. It has several craters not located in the peaks. The largest crater is Kawah Ratu or Ratu crater in the western part. Two other craters in Kawah Ratu system are Kawah Cikuluwung Putri and Kawah Hirup. The latest documented eruption of this mount is a phreatic eruption in 1938. Previous eruptions in 1789, 1902-1903 were also documented.
