Originally the Davis Leather Company's main factory, which fell into disuse in the 1950s. The site decayed for years before being purchased in the early 1980s as the basis for an upscale boutique shopping mall. Traffic was always small and the mall soon went out of business, leaving the well developed site in the hands of the local government. It was redeveloped as the basis for the Newmarket GO Train Station, a number of government and professional offices, and a small college.
