This well was the primary drinking water source (sweet) for the villages of Lakkur as well as the centre of news exchange among the womenfolk some years back. With the village tank drying up and introduction of piped water, this well fell into disuse. Now its a desolete place. There is another well some distance away which was meant for the lower castes, also in disuse now.
