The original Essex County Home For The Aged was built on the outskirts of Leamington in 1900. The name was changed in 1955 and a new building was constructed in 1962. This building was replaced in 1992 by the present facility built on the original 20 acre site. It accomodates 206 long care residents and is operated by the County of Essex.
