At 1200m, it will overtake the Burj Dubai as the world's tallest building, when the Al Burj is completed in around 2020.

the al burj is actully a separate building at dubai waterfront which i dont think they will build because they changed there mind to building this tower in this location on the gateway to jebel ali

Correct! There's 318 78m x 1.6m skin friction foundation piles in the giant circle that's now been temporarily covered over with sand by the contractors. The liners are in, but yet to pumped, re-enforced or concreted. That's 126 foundation piles more than Burj Khalifa! (Prev - Burj Dubai Tower) Mark my words, this feint circle in the sand is the location of the next world's tallest building by far, in around 2019.
