  • Site of arguably the most important naval battle of War of 1812.
  • Actually I think it was the Revolutionary War, 1776. Enabled American victory later at Saratoga. Benedict Arnold, the infamous traitor (later), was in command of the American forces, and I suppose deserves due credit.
