The Cevahir Bedesten (jewelry market) is the oldest part of the Grand Bazaar, and traces its history back to the 15th Century. Like the second oldest (Sandahl Bedesten, visible nearby), they retain the original "warehouse" design of the early bazaar. Currently its filled with many different shops --not just jewelry-- including a number of antique places and a cafe. Signs to the entrance note "Old Bazaar".
