The Galloway log cabin was built by an early settler, James Galloway, in 1799. It was originally built on the banks of the Little Miami River near Goes Station, a few miles north of the present site. In 1936, the Greene County Historical Society oversaw its dismantling, moving, and reconstruction in the city of Xenia. It was moved to the present site in 1965.

Today it's a small museum operated by the Greene County Historical Society.
