Dr. Charles Alexander Warfield built his home -- known as Bushy Park -- on this site in 1771, on 1300 acres of Ridgely's Great Park. He named his estate after Lord North's home outside of London. The house burned in 1933, and was reconstructed on the original foundation in a similar style.
