Established in 1956, the Faculty of Engineering is one of the oldest faculties in the University of Malaya. The six departments; Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Design & Manufacture and Biomedical Engineering offer an array of engineering undergraduate programmes catered to expand the boundaries of traditional engineering knowledge and explore the frontiers of future technologies.

  • UM's Faculty of Engineering used to be one of the best Engineering schools in the Commonwealth during the 50's to the late 70's, on par to NUS then. Today, it is but a pale shadow of its glorious self...way way behind NUS. Really sad!! Even sadder is the fact that there is NO stopping of its decline.
