Victoria, a town of approximately 1200 people is situated in eastern Ellis county Kansas. Victoria's birth as a town site is closely tied to the construction of the Kansas Pacific Railroad through the area. It was platted in 1873.
The town is best known for the magnificent limestone St. Fidelis Church, the Cathedral of the Plains, built by German settlers and dedicated August 27, 1911.
