Suburbean area in the western part of city of Niš. It has more than 5000 citizens, is a center of the agriculture from the nearby villages. The road infrastructure is semi developed, mostly in the western part, many streets have the layer of asphalt, but many aren't even flat, with a lot of mud in rainy days. The living area is made from houses. There are near 1300 houses in Deveti Maj. Deveti Maj disposes two supermarkets in the centre, a lot of mini stores, local community, ambulance, one café, many bookstores, craftsmen, etc. In Deveti Maj you can find almost everything you need for the living. It has the status of local community (srb. месна заједница) and a potential to grow into a municipality (in far future).
Main street is Topličkih Partizanskih Odreda. You can get to Deveti Maj by using lines 10 (Deveti Maj - Ćele Kula), 25 (Deveti Maj - Čokot - Donje Međurovo - Niš), 36 (Mramor - Trg Kralja Aleksandra), 36A(Mramorski Potok - Niš) and 33 (Sečanica - Niš). Deveti Maj is about 7.3 km away from the centre of Niš.
