This part of the city was not damaged in the big fire in 1827 and shows how people in Turku/Abo lived before. The small blocks saved include a lot of handicraft makers' workshops, therefore today called the Handicraft Museum. Together with Turku/Abo Castle and Turku/Abo Cathedral the Handicraft Museum belongs to Turku/Abo's three most important sights.
